Baginton Fields Academy proudly announces its recent recognition as a Thrive Ambassador

School for Excellence in Environment. This award highlights the school’s dedication to

creating a nurturing, supportive atmosphere where students feel safe, valued, and

empowered through the Thrive Approach.

The Thrive Ambassador Schools scheme honours schools that prioritise emotional wellbeing

and apply the Thrive Approach to support students in developing essential social and

emotional skills. Applying for the ‘Excellence in Environment’ award enabled the academy to

deepen its implementation of the Thrive Approach and to evaluate both strengths and areas

for further development.

Headteacher Alison Francis shares her pride in the school’s accomplishment, commenting,

“We are incredibly proud to receive this award. It is a wonderful recognition of our staff’s

dedication and the commitment of our Thrive lead practitioners. The entire school community

has embraced the Thrive Approach, and it is inspiring to see how this recognition is

positively impacting our students and the overall school environment.”

Since adopting Thrive, Baginton Fields’ lead practitioners have created an environment that

supports students during moments of dysregulation and equips staff with essential skills to

provide effective, compassionate support. Baginton Fields Academy provides education for

secondary-aged students with learning difficulties, including Profound and Multiple Learning

Difficulties (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

As a Thrive Ambassador School, it prioritises emotional wellbeing, using the Thrive

Approach to help students develop social and emotional skills. To support this, each class

has a Thrive board displaying targets and action plans, and a Thrive Champion who works

with the team on “Being,” “Doing,” and “Thinking” resources for student regulation. Guided

by its vision, “dedicated to delivering inspirational learning experiences,” the academy meets

each student’s unique needs with a personalised approach.

Located in Coventry, Baginton Fields School is committed to providing a supportive,

inclusive space where each child benefits from a unique, compassionate educational

experience. As part of the Thrive Education Partnership, a multi-academy trust of special

education needs (SEND) schools across the West Midlands and Warwickshire, the school

upholds a strong dedication to student wellbeing and individualised learning.
